Hello, I'm Ms. Patton. It's nice to meet you!
I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year. Let me tell you a little about myself...
I grew up in Northwest Indiana in city very close to Chicago and Lake Michigan. After
graduating with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary & Special Education from Indiana
University, I moved across the country to Denver. I just loved the mountains and
active lifestyle in Colorado! Before coming to Samuels, I worked for two years as a 4th grade
teacher in Adams County School District 50. I am currently working on my Masters Degree
in Special Education at the University of Colorado Denver. Along with my M.A., I am also
working towards my Board Certified Applied Behavior Analysis (BCaBA) certificate and
Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) endorsement. I consider myself a
lifelong learner and am always looking for new ways to grow and develop as an professional educator.
When I'm not teaching or being taught, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my dog Lilly. We love to go on long hikes and explore all of the beautiful scenery Colorado has to offer! I also enjoy going to yoga (Namaste!) and seeing live music. I grew up playing the piano and clarinet, so I have a deep appreciation for music. Going to Jazz in the Park on Sundays in the summer is one of my favorite things to do in Denver! Of course, I always enjoy getting caught up in a good book. Some of my favorites include the Harry Potter series and non-fiction books by Jon Ronson.
I hope you find this website useful in answering questions you may have about your child's
education, but if you have any further questions please head to the 'Contact' page and send
