Fifth Grade is fantastic!

 

Math

We will be learning many new things in math this year. In our first math unit, we will be working on adding, subtracting, and multiplying whole numbers and decimals. You can get practice this skill and more when you log into your Khan Academy account from home! Click on the Khan Academy logo below to get started!

 

 

 

 

Science

Our first science unit is "Investigating Human Systems". We will be learning about how the body works and what we can do it keep it healthy. There will be several days where we practice exercising and being active. Look for notes coming home that remind students when to wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes!

Social Studies

This year in Social Studies we will be learning about America's past. 

 

In our first unit we will learn more about the geography of the United States. Students will explore the difference between relative and absolution locations while we learn how to accuraely read maps and diagrams. We will be learning new geographic terms in order to talk about the physical features of the United States.
